Dukkha
Dukkha originated in Egypt and is a mixture of ground nuts and spices. While the recipe can vary greatly, most blends will incorporate one or more nuts such as hazelnuts, pistachios or almonds, together with sesame seeds, coriander, cumin, salt and pepper. Different proportions of these ingredients, or the addition of other herbs and spices, can create a multitude of dukkha blends suitable for a variety of purposes.
At Grindon we produce three flavours of dukkha, Hazelnut, Pistachio and Spicy. Each has a distinct flavout and are hand made in small batches to traditional style recipes. None of our dukkha varieties contain peanuts.
The most popular serving method is with Turkish bread dipped in extra virgon olive oil, then dukkha. It is worth noting that any of our dukkha styles will work beautifully with all of the Grindon Extra Virgin Olive Oils. However there are many further ways to incorporate dukkha in your cooking, including those on the recipe page.
